The ports of Long Beach and LA, as well as manufacturers such as Boeing, add urgency to the topics of movement, material, and manufacturing. As a result, the South Bay is home to respected experts recognized throughout the world for advancements in technology.
California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and the City of Long Beach are hosting an event that will bring together a panel of distinguished experts from government, industry, and academia to discuss a variety of topics relating to the future of goods movement (transportation), innovation in materials design and manufacturing, and changes in security requirements, particularly with relation to ports.

The distinguished panelists will represent various perspectives on the discussion topic and will offer insight gained from firsthand experience. In addition to the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to network with representatives from the movement, materials, and manufacturing industries as well as an official from the California office of Homeland Security. The event is being held on the CSULB campus, in the landmark Walter Pyramid. Doors open at 3:00p.m. with time for coffee and review of various technology related exhibitors. The panel discussion is followed by a wine and cheese reception.
