Description:
Igniting Your Venture: Marketing Made Easy

Hosted by the Pasadena Angels

Speaker: Kevin Espstein, author of Marketing Made Easy

Being an entrepreneur means you never have enough time or money. The way to have enough time and money is to grow your business. But to grow your business, you need money and time—the Catch 22 many entrepreneurs invariably face.

Growing your business isn’t about how much time and money you have; it’s about how wisely you spend it. Marketing is the ultimate amplifier of time and money. Used correctly, marketing can make a small, smart expenditure generate large sales for your business. Used poorly, marketing can drain your time and money faster than any other business activity.

This seminar, part of the Pasadena Angels “Igniting your Venture” series for entrepreneurs will show you the right way to use marketing and how to create real-world, straightforward, cost-effective customer awareness and sales for your business.

The program will feature Kevin Epstein, author of Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Marketing Made Easy.” Kevin is a Silicon Valley marketing executive with more than fifteen years of experience in guerrilla marketing tactics at such software industry high-flyers as Netscape, RealNetworks, Inktomi, and VMware. Notable prior ventures in which he has participated include CDnow (now an Amazon.com brand), Devicescape (funded by Kleiner Perkins, venture backers of Netscape), Skyrider (funded by Sequoia, venture backers of Google) and YouSendIt. Kevin is also the author of the widely read website (www.stupidmarketing.com) and blog (blog.stupidmarketing.com): Stupid Marketing – When Bad Ideas Happen to Good Companies.

As part of this program, our guest speaker and panelists have agreed to review and discuss (anonymously and without revealing company names and specific details) the three best marketing challenges submitted by those attending the

seminar. To submit your marketing challenge for consideration, please send a brief overview or description to jplatnick@pasadenaangels.com. Whether you’re a new entrepreneur an experienced veteran, this program will provide concrete ideas for marketing in the fast changing environment of a growing company. Using guidelines that are practical, easily applied, and broad enough for product or service companies, you’ll learn why you don’t have to spend millions (or even thousands) of marketing dollars to see a huge impact on sales. Cost: $25 - We accept credit cards
