Former Astronaut and first woman in space, Sally Ride, will Kick Off Tech Week 2008. Topic:"Leadership and America's Future in Space" As America's first woman in space, an author of three books, and a leader of President Reagan's Commission investigating the space shuttle Challenger accident, there is no one more qualified to discuss the past and future of space exploration than Sally Ride. In this fascinating presentation, Dr. Ride utilizes breathtaking slides and videos she took on her two trips in space to describe the benefits of space exploration and of the future of the space program.

Technology Leadership Prizes aim to recognize companies and organizations for their world class, leading edge technology creations and development programs. The awards intend to encourage more Los Angeles area companies and organizations to initiate or increase their technology activities, publicize these activities and reinforce the region’s reputation for commitment to technology leadership. The Prizes are given annually. In evaluating the impact of a company or organization’s activities, consideration will be given to the size of the Company/Organization in relation to its contribution to the technology it creates or the technology community it serves.
The fifth anniversary of Tech Week is scheduled for Jan 28-Feb 1, 2008.
